This in-water, performance based course includes two "core" dives: a deep and underwater navigation dive, and three different "elective" dives that may include: boat diving, underwater photography, computer diving, night diving, drift, waves & current diving, etc.

What's involved?
We all know that the place you learn new skills in is in the water. After covering the material with your instructor, you are ready for the fun part of this course - the diving. The course is run in a relaxed manner with the Instructor who offers help, encouragement and expert advice to guide you through the various tasks that will develop a greater awareness of the environment and other excellent skill building exercises.

What do I need to start?
You must be an Open Water Diver.

Big Blue provides all equipment, boat trips, etc., for the duration of the course. We can lend you the  SSI Manual for all SSI Courses but the PADI Manuals must be bought for an additional 800 Baht if you choose to do a PADI Course.

How long will it take?
Generally this course is completed over two to three days.

Typical Diary of the Advanced Course

Day 1:    10:00-11:30: Your Instructor will offer you details on all the available dive 'Adventures' that you could choose for your Advanced Course in addition to the 2 core dives Navigation & Deep. Once we have chosen your 3 other dive options then we'll start talking about each area individually & in depth so you get a good understanding of what you are about to do                         1pm-17:30: You'll go out in the afternoon on the boat & do 2 dives- your Navigation dive & 1 Adventure dive.
 
Day 2:   7:00-12:30: Early start but well worth it as today is the day you'll be diving down to 30 meters before breakfast on your Deep dive and then we got 1 more Adventure dive to do that morning.

           18:00-20:00: We'll head out to White Rock for the best night dive in Koh Tao as we check out the giant barracuda in full hunting mode. Then its back to shore for your Advanced Open Water certification that enables you to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters, the equivalent height/ depth of a 10 storey building!

Now what?
After successfully completing this course, you may want to continue your dive education with some of the Specialty Courses or Rescue training.
