You will work closely with your instructors to expand your diving skills and knowledge to a professional level, following them as they lead other courses. Then, in the most fulfilling part of the course, you'll learn and practice supervising diving activities and assisting with student training. You will also experience first-hand the day to day job of a Dive Master. You will start your course for the first week passively assisting our Divemasters with their day to day job. This way you will get to know our routine what is needed & what it takes to prepare a trip every day. You will join our DM's at the back of their groups learning the divesites, practising your navigational skills & making note of different features & marine life for future reference. In this time you will get to know our staff & make your own choice as to who you wish to have as your DM Instructor. In the second week you will now be assiting that Instructor with their students in training. Again you will be very much there to passively assist and over the next couple of weeks will turn from passively assisting to actively assisting your Instructor & their courses. You will do skills circuits, be assessed on your rescue skills, map divesites, prepare emergency plans & be assessed on how you deal with emergency situations. Then in the last week of your course you will go back to assisting the DM's & leading certified Divers & taking refreshers out. The final day of your course will be all you! You need to organise a dive trip, in every angle of preparation from the boat roster to the food orders, the briefs, the equipment preparation & the crew delgation. After this your DM Day your Instructor who will be tere with you can evaluate you on your performance of the trip to give you helpful pointers to aid you now that you are a PADI Divemaster! Then its off to the pub to celebrate with what we like to call your DM challenge! But thats a whole other story! What do I need to start?You must be certified in Rescue techniques and have a recognised CPR certification, such as the Emergency First Response, within the last two years. You will need to have 20 logged dives to begin the course and 60 by the time you are certified. Although you may have some or all of your own equipment, Big Blue provides all equipment, & boat trips, etc. for the duration of the course. Am I fit to dive? How long will it take?
