Rescue training takes you beyond the purely recreational level by expanding your knowledge and skills to assist other divers, handle problems and emergencies, and prevent those problems, leaving you with a sense of security as a diver that cannot be obtained in any other way. Rescue certification is a prerequisite for all leadership level training.
The course makes the serious subject of accident management enjoyable and rewarding. Until now, the emphasis of your training has been you and your dive buddy; the rescue training teaches you to make diving more safe and enjoyable for others. What's involved?
During this course, you'll learn how to foresee, prevent and manage potential diving accidents; from assisting a tired diver to handling possible emergency scenarios, you'll practise applying the knowledge and skills that can make the difference in the unlikely event that problems do arise. What do I need to start? You must be an Open Water Diver and have recognised CPR certification, such as the Emergency First Response , within the past two years. You may be asked to prove proof of logged dives. Big Blue provides all equipment, boat trips, etc., for the duration of the course. We can lend you the SSI Manual for all SSI Courses but the PADI Manuals must be bought for an additional 800 Baht if you choose to do a PADI Course. Am I fit to dive? Read this medical questionnaire, if you can answer yes to any of the questions, you may require medical clearance to enroll on a diving course.

After successfully completing your Rescue training, you may wish to continue your dive education via the Master Scuba Diver certification or leadership level courses, if you choose the professional route. The Emergency First Response (EFR) program can show you how to respond if someone needs help. The Emergency First Response - Primary Care course provides extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as offering optional Secondary Care and Emergency Oxygen sections.
Practical applications allow you to build and polish your skills. The chances are that you will probably never need to use the skills that you learn on this course, however, should the need arise to use the skills in providing emergency medical attention, you will have the knowledge to respond quickly with confidence. What do I need to start? There is no dive certification required nor minimum age limit. How long will it take? The Primary Care course lasts four hours and can be completed in half a day. Now what? After successfully completing this course, you may want to continue your dive education with some of the Specialty Courses or Rescue training.
