Fish Identification

The ocean is filled with fascinating and beautiful fish of every size, shape, and colour. It’s these fish, and the other marine life, that gets us under the water as scuba divers. So why not learn more about them on a Fish Identification course?

The Fish Identification course will teach you the skills and concepts required to identify the common families of Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and Red Sea reef fish. Being able to identify the fish around you on a dive will certainly add to the experience!

In the morning, you’ll attend a presentation on the similarities and differences between fish species, and how a logical examination of these features can allow you to identify the species and family of the fish you’re looking at. In the afternoon, you’ll put your new identification skills into practice in the water on two fish identification fun dives. In no time you’ll be able to identify all the fish you see around you!

In order to enrol in the Fish Identification course, you need to be a certified Open Water diver. Big Blue Diving will provide all equipment, boat trips, etc., for the duration of the course.

Don’t forget! Because of the extra nitrogen your body builds up while scuba diving, you cannot fly within 24hrs of your last dive.
