Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have the ocean as your office, kiss the typical nine-five goodbye, and do something you really love as a job? Why spend all your time working and saving for your next dive trip, when you can commute to your office by dive boat and have morning meetings with underwater wonders? Sound familiar? Then our SSI Instructor Training course is for you!
We were one of the first dive schools on Koh Tao, and we were also the first one to start offering the SSI Instructor Training Course. Since then, we have trained hundreds of dive professionals at the highest standard and helped people to change their lives and follow their dreams. Whether this is by staying to work on Koh Tao, or by helping with job placements all over the world through our extensive network of fellow professionals. We’ve been diving these waters and training professional scuba divers for almost 30 years. Our Instructor Trainer/Certifier Tim Morrish will develop your diving skills, knowledge, experience and introduce you to a variety of different dive sites and amazing marine life.
The Instructor Training Course is designed to emphasize learning and development to prepare you for your Instructor Exam, but also to prepare you for teaching in the real world. You’ll gain knowledge, skills, and coaching techniques to teach courses effectively, and learn how to apply these skill in real-world scenarios. You will also be given an introduction to the business of diving, including economic, social, cultural, legal, governmental and environmental concerns, along with marketing and customer service.
The Instructor Training Course is conducted over 14 days inclusive of a two day externally evaluated Instructor Examination (IE). Which is conducted on island.
To register for the Instructor Training Course you must be a certified Divemaster from a recognised training agency, have a valid CPR, first aid and Oxygen Provider certification and be Enriched Air certified. (All or any of which we can of course train you in too) You must wait at least six months after your Open Water license completion date before beginning your Instructor Training course, and you must also have at least 100 logged dives.
Don’t forget! Because of the extra nitrogen your body builds up while scuba diving, you cannot fly within 24hrs of your last dive.
When does the next Instructor Training Course start?
- AUGUST – 5-19th
- SEPTEMBER – 9th-23rd
- OCTOBER – 1st-14th
- NOVEMBER – 4th-18th
- DECEMBER – 2nd -16th
