Many divers are drawn to the ocean by a sense of curiosity and wonder. While exploring the underwater world is an incredible experience, understanding the science behind it can make every dive even more meaningful. By learning about marine ecology, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the fascinating ecosystems and marine life that surround you.
The Big Blue Marine Ecology Course is the perfect introduction to becoming a more knowledgeable, environmentally conscious diver. Throughout the course, you’ll discover how marine organisms interact with one another and their environment, how energy flows through ocean communities, and how different ecosystems are connected beneath the surface. This knowledge will enrich your diving experiences and help you better understand the delicate balance of life underwater.
Upon successful completion, you’ll earn the Big Blue Marine Ecology Specialty Certification. This certification also serves as a gateway to additional conservation-focused courses offered by Big Blue Conservation, allowing you to further expand your understanding and involvement in marine protection.
Please note that this is a classroom-based course with no required dives. However, if you’d like to combine your learning with time underwater, you’re welcome to add dives to your program at our standard fun diving rates.
Don’t forget! Because of the extra nitrogen your body builds up while scuba diving, you cannot fly within 24hrs of your last dive.
