At Chumphon Pinnacle dive site yesterday we were graced with the presence of dolphins. So we’re running 2 boats out today. First departure is to Chumphon Pinnacle and Green Rock leaving at 8am and then this afternoon running another boat out to the Sattakut Wreck and White Rock.
Not a bad start all things considering and the word on the street is that the ferries to Koh Tao will be running from the 15th from Koh Samui & Koh Phangan, (www.lomprayah.com) and Bangkok Airways will be scheduling flights again from Bangkok to Koh Samui (www.bangkokair.com). There were rumours that Koh Tao will be enforcing a 2 week quarantine for those arriving on the island but it looks like that quarantine rule may be lifted if you are coming from a low risk area of which Koh Samui & Koh Phangan are both classified as. Coming from Bangkok however may mean you are required to self quarantine so do please check with your carrier before you get here.
We will post the latest news as and when we hear it but for the moment we are diving daily though have imposed various Covid related restrictions including maximum group sizes of 3 and only running our boats out at half their capacity. We will also not be offerring snacks or drinks out on our boats either so you will need to bring your own of which you can get a takeaway from our restaurant which is also open.
So we’re not quite there yet but it definitely feels that we’re on our way. Dolphins at Chumphon Pinnacle dive site is a good start!
