International School of Samui Diver specials for the whole family

Living on Samui, you have probably already experienced the beauty of Koh Tao and have witnessed firsthand why this tiny little island has become the number one place in the world to learn to scuba dive.

Getting to Koh Tao

Only 90 minutes from Samui you can be checked into your hotel room by 10am and then when you’re ready we’ll have you meet your Divemaster or Instructor to get started on your diving activity if you wanted to get started straight away. Alternatively you can enjoy the island and we can start tomorrow..

Diving for the under 10’s

There are many scuba diving options available for all ages starting from 8 years old.

The Bubblemaker is a scuba diving experience that introduces your kids to the amazing beauty of the underwater world and also the fun that can be had with buoyancy control. Our afternoon boat will head out to one of Koh Tao’s many bays or beaches in search of a suitable area in which we can go for our first dive to a maximum depth of 5 meters. We’ll start off in depth deep enough to stand up in and as our confidence grows we’ll gradually ease down to 5 meters along the sloping reef. On dive 2 we ‘re going to spend a lot more time looking at fish and coral and identifying all the different types of marine life we encounter.

The Scuba Diving License

The Junior Open Water Course is the first license your 10 year old’s can get in scuba diving. This is a 3 day course consisting of 1 day in the swimming pool followed on Day 2 by 2 dives around Koh Tao at about 6-8 meters and then a final 2 dives on Day 3 down to a maximum depth of 12 meters. There is a fair bit of theory to learn during the process too but we can get you started online before you get here so you can get most of the classroom work done at home if preferred.

The Open Water Course is for 15 year old’s and up. It actually follows exactly the same theory and course structure and schedule as the Junior Open Water the only difference being the depths. In the Open Water Course we will get down to a maximum depth of about 18 meters. Junior Open Waters are automatically upgraded to Open Waters upon their 15th Birthdays. No need to do this course if you are already Junior Open Water.

Choices Choices Choices

Once certified you might want to consider taking your Advanced Course which consists of 5 dives all very different to what you do on your Open Water. We’ll do a navigation dive, a buoyancy control dive, a wreck dive, a night dive and a deep dive. The Advanced Course takes just 2 days to complete.

Alternatively as a licensed diver you might prefer just to go out diving. Join a boat trip and bring the family for an afternoons dive trip with your own Divemaster to lead you around the dive site pointing out the various things we see along the way.
