Koh Tao Trip Advisor Review on Big Blue Diving

Seems that everyone is reading Koh Tao Trip Advisor reviews before they book for Koh Tao so thought we should leave you with a warning.

It was only going to be a couple courses. We were only planning on staying  on Koh Tao for diving, to get our PADI certification. Maybe a couple of fun dives… then on to Myanmar. Diving Koh Tao for 6 days maximum.

That’s how they get you…its sneaky really. They’re out there 24/7, in paradise, selling the cheapest best stuff around. They make you feel safe, knowing your about to get hooked. Just a couple courses, let’s get certified!

To make a long story short, I’m now what they call a functional addict. We spent the rest of our vacation, a little over 3 weeks, on Koh Tao diving and diving…night diving, cave diving, sail rock! Fish everywhere. Madness.

It was just an unstoppable spiral of good people, good food, decent accommodation and amazing dive sites with a competent staff that makes sure you’re safe while having a blast.

I don’t think there was anyone on the staff who I wouldn’t give 5 stars to on an individual level…to name a few standouts who I would highly recommend asking for by name as DM or instructors… I couldn’t not mention Steve “Deep Blue Ste” the instructor for our courses. Super fun, relaxed and also highly competent. He made the courses and instructional dives fun, while also catering to each individual divers skill/ comfort level. So much fun to dive with and learn from!

I was lucky enough to night dive a few times with the hungry grouper magnet Patrick O…great night dive video opportunities! Anna and Michael were great to fun dive with. Thanks Claire for literally making giant boats full of people go places just cause  Justin asked you to. Lewis is a high level wizard with the camera…I was floored by his footage. Takane and JP at the free diving center are amazing, thanks for the tips on how to fight the urge to breathe! Jiyul Kim was just getting started when I was on vacation. We took the free dive course together in January. shes still at Big Blue Diving on Koh Tao, now a Divemaster, ready to show you around some of the greatest diving on Koh Tao!

Once again another new addict has joined our Koh Tao diving cult, and like so many before you (most of whom work here now, like Jiyul ) you’ve fallen into the trap of visiting an island that can be dived all year round, is full of natural beauty, great beaches, delicious food, world class sunsets, cool friendly ‘locals’…i could go on but it appears you know all this already!

Welcome to the family guys, and I’m very happy you had such a good time with us here on our little piece of paradise – I hope we’ll get to see you both diving Koh Tao again one day!
