At Big Blue Tech we offer the Rebreather Course where you will learn about the history of rebreathers, how they work and most importantly, as your life depends on it, the maintenance and care of the unit before and after dives. Once you’ve tried this you won’t want to go back to open circuit scuba!
The PELAGIAN DCCCR is a fantastic tool, a Diver Controlled Closed Circuit Rebreather (Manual Rebreather) which is compact and light with an ease of control that all its users appreciate. The silence of the unit in the pool and then the slow dawning that the Fish are not as quiet as we all thought they were when hidden by the sound of bubbles, this is the realm of the PELAGIAN. Students use the PELAGIAN DCCR, they also have access to our Technical Diving Instructors and the PELAGIAN Designer who currently conducts the course prior to arrival to help with online education and preparation. Once onsite we have a dedicated Tech classroom and the pool is quite literally 10 meters from our office and equipment room and our boat leaves from the beach. Rebreathers are more complex to use than open circuit scuba, and have more potential areas of risk therefore your training will require a greater level of skill, attention and situational awareness, which is usually derived from understanding the systems, diligent maintenance and overlearning the practical skills of operation that we will teach you.
