“I wish I could stay on Koh Tao for longer,” is the most commonly used phrase on this island. Travelers seem to be in way too much of a hurry these days determined on seeing as much as they can in as short a time as possible. Dreadful idea. If you want to see places then just go check them out on You Tube but if you really want to SEE & experience places then you need to stay a while in one place.
Koh Tao is definitely the place we hear travelers commenting on all the time saying they wish they had spent longer here or less time somewhere else, but if you’ve never been then how do you know? Well luckily I have been to Koh Tao so if you want my recommendation then this is what I would suggest would make the perfect 1 week dive trip exploring Koh Tao above and below the surface.

Day 1:
- Morning: Arrive on Koh Tao, with one of the ferries to the island feeling the excitement of a tropical adventure. Check-in to your accommodation and freshen up.
- Late Morning: Take a leisurely stroll along the beautiful beach, letting the soft sand tickle your toes and the turquoise waters greet you. Eat at any of Sairee Beaches great beach side restaurants.
- Afternoon: Book your diving for the week in case you haven’t done so already, then indulge in a relaxing massage to soothe away any travel stress.
- Evening: Witness a breathtaking sunset while savoring a delightful dinner at Fizz, enjoying the fusion of flavors and the tunes being pumped out by the resident DJ.
Day 2:
- Morning: Start your day with an energizing activity: choose between a invigorating hike, a calming yoga session, or an adventurous Muay Thai class.
- Late Morning: Head over to New Heaven Bakery for a delicious breakfast that fuels your adventurous spirit.
- Afternoon: Dive into the underwater wonderland with a refresher dive or enjoy two shallow dives, exploring the vibrant marine life and fascinating corals around the incredibly beautiful island of Koh Nang Yuan.
- Evening: Relish a satisfying dinner at Whitening restaurant, sharing your diving tales and making new friends.
Day 3:
- Morning: Embark on two exciting morning dives at Chumphon Pinnacle and White Rock, encountering the diverse marine life and vibrant coral formations.
- Lunch: Got to be Duck 99 for some authentic Thai cuisine – noodles!
- Afternoon: Snorkel with sharks at Aow Leuk, an exhilarating experience that will get your heart racing while you marvel at these majestic creatures.
- Dinner Time: So many great restaurants to choose from. Grab what you fancy, Thai, Italian, Indian, Seafood?
Day 4:
- Morning: Enjoy two more captivating morning dives at Southwest Pinnacle and HTMS Sattakut Wreck discovering new underwater spectacles.
- Lunch: Sandwiches or Salads at Zest always goes down well, and comes highly recommended.
- Late Afternoon: Set off on a scenic hike to a sunset viewpoint, rewarding yourself with stunning panoramic views as the sun dips below the horizon.
- Evening: Delight in a flavorful Thai dinner at Chu Chu’s Thai Food Restaurant, savoring the authentic local cuisine.
Day 5:
- Full Day: Embark on an exciting full-day trip to Sail Rock, a renowned dive site known for its abundant marine life and stunning underwater landscapes. Immerse yourself in the aquatic wonderland and make unforgettable memories.
- Evening: Too tired to do much tonight? Maybe dinner and a Movie at the Hacienda?
Day 6:
- Morning: Begin your day with a rejuvenating session of yoga, an invigorating Muay Thai class, or an exploratory hike to discover more of the island’s beauty.
- Afternoon: Go for a massage or join a Thai Cooking Class, learning the art of crafting delectable Thai dishes and enjoying the fruits of your labor.
- Night Dive: Experience the magic of the underwater world under the cover of darkness with a thrilling night dive, encountering nocturnal creatures in their element.
- Farewell Dinner: Invite your new friends for a farewell dinner at the best restaurant on Koh Tao, Barracuda Rooftop Restaurant.
Day 7:
- Morning: Time to pack or do some shopping but try to make the most of your final morning with a last beach walk or snorkel.
- Lunch: Reflect on your incredible week as you toast to your last moments on Koh Tao with lunch at Cafe Del Sol.
- Depart: Enjoy a farewell aperitif at a cozy beachside bar, reminiscing about your adventures and making plans to return to this paradise someday.
