Here at Big Blue we have Instructors and Divemasters that come from all walks of life and from all nationalities, but our PADI Thai Instructor is the most in demand. We got a few pommies, a kiwi, a Swiss, a Chilean, a Dutchie, couple of embarrassed Yanks, a Canadian eh, a Welshman, a few Japaneasy’s but none of them are more important than our resident Thai Instructor right now, Luke Mee!
With the way the world is right now and with borders closed to international tourism we are very much having to concentrate our marketing efforts and those that live in Thailand and consequently we’re massively grateful to have ourselves represented by the absolutely wonderful Luke Mee.
She’s been involved in diving for around 20 years now, first starting off as our Shop girl here at Big Blue when we were just a baby at the pier back in the old days, and soon after when we opened up our office in Khao Lak, Luke Mee went across to help us out there too and became a Divemaster around that time leading divers through the many beautiful divesites of the Similan and Surin Islands. Unfortunately she was there during the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 and basically because we had no shop left she went off and worked at other dive centers. She became an Instructor and recently was managing a Dive Center herself here on Koh Tao.
But due to the Covid situation the owners of the dive center she worked at chose not to reopen and once again Luke Mee was back on the market, and quick as a flash we lured her back to where it all began, here at Big Blue Diving.
So we are super proud to have Luke Mee on our team. The experience she brings with her, the connections she has developed over the years and the wonderful personality she brings to the team has made the whole horrible Covid experience a little less painful than it would have been without her.
Luke Mee is a PADI & SSI Instructor and is pretty much working everyday of the week so do please let us know in good time when you want to start your course be it in Thai or in English. We’ll have Luke Mee all ready and raring to go as soon as you fancy.
