Sidemount Diving on Koh Tao.

Traditionally developed for cave diving, sidemount diving has been adapted for Technical Diving in wrecks and blue water around the world. Sidemount diving is a relatively new equipment configuration and whether you’re already a technical diver wanting to transfer skills, or you’re making the decision to get into technical diving, technical sidemount courses are a great place to start. True independence, excellent balance and streamlining are just several advantages to diving a sidemount configuration. Finding the perfect training centre with experienced instructors can also be very challenging but choosing Big Blue Tech for your technical training will be the easiest decision you’ll ever make. Our technical sidemount courses won’t be the easiest courses you’ll ever take but we can promise that they will be the most rewarding.

All of our technical sidemount options offer our students a structured progression through the courses, starting with equipment set up and pool sessions for skills development before heading into the open water. These three and four-day courses will allow you to become accustomed to the new procedures required to carry two, three or four tanks, depending on your current certification level. As we progress, we will challenge you in emergency scenarios with fellow sidemount divers. Technical sidemount courses can also be combined with any of our Decompression or Trimix courses.

The TDI Sidemount Course

Sidemount has been gaining in popularity and is viewed as mainstream by many now, a great configuration that’s flexible and accessible to all divers. The TDI Sidemount Diver course will not only introduce you to a new configuration but in most cases, this is also the first step into Technical training. At Big Blue Tech we have instructors who not only teach sidemount but who dive sidemount all the time which is important when you come to choosing an instructor to learn with. Conducted over 3 days we add a pool session and at least one additional dive to the course curriculum, we also offer additional dives to gain experience as part of any course package.

With online learning with this TDI course, you can complete all of the academics prior to arriving here at Big Blue Tech, the course materials are then available to you at any time after the course allowing you to refresh your TDI Sidemount Diver course at any time.
