Can Coral Reefs Recover After Bleaching?
Yes, recovery is possible when stressful conditions ease quickly enough.
NOAA explains that corals can recover from mild bleaching by repopulating their tissues with algae. Recovery becomes less likely when bleaching is severe, repeated or prolonged.
