Dive Resort or Dive Center.
A Dive Resort can offer you a large selection of accommodation options and are definitely going to be cheaper than a hotel or guesthouse without the diving.
Resorts also offer an all in one type set up with restaurant and bar, swimming pool, accommodation, and diving, etc, which makes it a lot more of an enjoyable place to relax & not get stressed by timekeeping.
By having everything on-site, you’ve only really got one place to be. The better Dive resorts will also be able to offer you a wide selection of various types of accommodation on Koh Tao.
Dormitories.
Dormitories are popular with budget travelers and singles as they are the best way to meet people. But then there’s also fan rooms and air-conditioned rooms (which you pay a lot more for), as well as bungalows on and off the beach and if you really hit the jackpot (and can afford it) there are a couple of Dive Resorts on Koh Tao that also offer luxury style Villas though they are usually a little bit back from the beach.
What’s your budget per night?
Price wise you are looking at 300 to 400 Bt for a dorm bed, around 500 to 800 Bt for a private fan room or bungalow. Reckon on about 1000 Bt for an air-conditioned room or Bungalow, but if you are looking for something a little swankier like your own villa then you could be paying anywhere from 3000 to 15000Bt a night.
